Creating a relaxing, spa-inspired bathroom in South Denton

A homeowner based in Newcastle approached us to transform her existing bathroom into a luxurious, modern space. The brief was to create a room that combined everyday practicality with a spa-like feel, featuring both a freestanding bath and a walk-in shower.

The project involved a full bathroom installation using a client-supplied suite, with our team managing all plumbing, electrical, and tiling works to ensure a flawless finish.

The challenge

As this was the property’s only bathroom, the toilet needed to remain operational throughout the project, requiring precise scheduling and coordination to minimise disruption.

The team also had to work carefully within the existing layout, making efficient use of space while achieving a sleek, open design.

Our process

To make the most of the available footprint, we converted the existing bathroom layout and repurposed the old airing cupboard to house the new walk-in shower. Pipework was relocated and concealed to maintain clean lines and reduce the need for bulky boxings.

The project included:

  • Full installation of a client-supplied bathroom suite
  • Electrical works and certification, including the installation of an LED mirror
  • Full-height 60×60 wall tiles and matching 60×60 floor tiles for a cohesive, high-end look
  • Careful coordination of work to ensure the toilet remained functional during the renovation

The full installation was completed over eight days, with the project delivered on schedule and to the highest standards of craftsmanship.

The result

The completed bathroom delivers a luxurious, spa-inspired space that feels both elegant and practical for everyday use.

Large-format grey porcelain tiles cover the walls and floor, creating a seamless, contemporary backdrop that enhances the sense of space and light. This neutral finish allows the standout features to take centre stage – most notably, the freestanding slipper bath, finished in a distinctive dark olive-green with brass claw feet and matching taps.

To complement the design, a dark green vanity and toilet enclosure provide essential storage while maintaining clean, uninterrupted lines. A brass heated towel rail ties the scheme together, adding warmth and a touch of sophistication.

Bright, energy-efficient LED downlights complete the transformation, reflecting softly off the high-gloss surfaces to create a calm and inviting atmosphere.

The result is a beautifully balanced bathroom that combines style, comfort, and functionality – a true sanctuary designed for relaxation and everyday living.
